why the EDGE?

There are a ton of great options out there when planning your future.  What sets The EDGE Internship apart from other internships is it’s passion for hands on ministry and discipleship.  We make it our mission to invest, develop and motivate students to fulfill the call that God has on their lives.  To do this The EDGE is committed to one on one discipleship and accountability with each intern.   We are based in Tucson AZ at Victory Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor Zane Anderson and Pastor Waylon Sears. The program is designed to help students focus on the spiritual, mental, physical and emotional aspects of life. The EDGE will draw you out from the middle, sharpen you, and give you direction.

"Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith" (Hebrews 13:7) We believe in 360 degree leadership. Meaning, you can be lead from above, beside, or even below. Every student gets the opportunity to use the gifts and talents they have. Not only will you get the benefit of walking with other students, but you will get hands on opportunity to be lead by numerous different pastors who have lived in successful ministry and gain from the wisdom they have.

"yet a time is coming and has now come when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." (John 4:23) We believe in putting priority into worship. We understand the value of your worship experience and believe strongly in setting you up with times to encounter God. You will be placed in opportunities for you to sharpen and even mature in the way you worship. From services all the way to chapels, you will find yourself with a chance to meet God in an entirely new way.

"So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building." (1 Cor. 3:7) With your time in The EDGE, you will be stretched daily. From morning devotions to Life Courses, you have capability to grow in every aspect of your life. We believe that you have the ability to be the leader God has called you to be, and we will put you in situations to allow that leader to be exposed.

"We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His son, Jesus Christ." (1 John 1:3) We believe in relationship. We believe that in order to be the leader you are capable of, it begins with relationship. In The EDGE you will learn not only the importance of building relationships, but you will experience the opportunity to put it into action.

typical week

In The EDGE, students will have to adhere to a weekly schedule that begins on Monday. Throughout each week EDGE interns serve, lead, and learn in many different environments.

Every morning students will have an hour of prayer and devotions to meet with God and give Him the first fruits of the day. Over the course of the 10 months, each student reads through the whole bible.

Twice a week The EDGE will have chapels with various different speakers from Victory and across the nation.

The EDGE is also split into groups that go to school campuses around Tucson and build relationship with the students. These groups are called Societies.

The EDGE is a program that allows students to experience all different areas of ministry. Twice a week for two and a half hours students will be placed in shifts to serve in every ministry of Victory.  Some of these ministries include youth, children’s, outreach, maintenance, tech and so much more.

Saturday mornings The EDGE volunteers with Bethlehem House, which is a ministry at Victory that gives free bags of groceries to those less fortunate in Tucson. The students will also participate in Healing Rooms; this is where people all around Tucson come to receive prayer for healing in any area of their life. The EDGE is constantly serving both the church and the community of Tucson.

On Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings The EDGE is required to serve two services and attend one service.  Students can serve in Jr. High, Children’s, Guest Services, tech and more.
