Rain!
Mar 23, 2010
Henry Ward Beecher wrote, “Rain! Whose soft architectural hands have power to cut stones, and chisel to shapes of grandeur the very mountains.”[1] The beauty and power of rain captivates me each time I experience it. If it were an every day occurrence in the Tucson desert, it probably wouldn’t have the same result, but because it’s infrequent, I usually stop and enjoy it.
Rain takes me to a place in my time with God, reminding me of His glory. It’s a sign to me that we live each day under an open heaven in which God continues to pour out His Spirit on us. He gives us each day His favor and His blessing.
I pray that you experience God’s presence today in a fresh new way—like the refreshing that rain brings to the dry and thirsty desert.
Deuteronomy 32:2 says, My teaching will fall on you like rain; my speech will settle like dew. My words will fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants (nlt).
