You know, it won't be long and our students will be back to school. Over the summer I've really felt impressed to pray that each of our students have a sovereign encounter with God this summer. So, this week I ask that you set aside some time to pray specifically for our young people.

I have no doubt that we're living in the last days and the words of Joel, the prophet, are alive in the earth.

No, what you see this morning was predicted centuries ago by the prophet Joel: 'In the last days, God said, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit upon all my servants, men and women alike, and they will prophesy.[1]

Pray that our students open their hearts like never before to the Holy Spirit and embrace this outpouring that has been promised to them. Stand in the gap and intercede for these young people who will soon become the leaders of our city, state, church and nation. Ask God to fill them to overflowing with His presence and consume them with passion to see God do a mighty work through them before they return to the schools and colleges. I pray their own transformed lives will speak to others of God's power and grace.
