The power of a surrendered life

Genesis 22 was the most difficult point in Abraham's life where he came to a crossroad that he HAD to trust in God. He had to surrender. Genesis 21 sets the stage of Isaac being born, Abraham & Sarah realizing they are parents - along in years, & the path to the crossroad.

God brings tests into our lives as a positive, not negative! They are to show us the good things that are in us that we might not see! There are times in our lives where we don't know what is in us or what we are made of until the test comes & shows us the truth.

God asked Abraham to sacrifice the very thing he prayed & believed God for - a son, Isaac. God asks him to sacrifice his son & dream. Sometimes you know that you know God has told you to do something or asked you for, and it is easy to doubt or wonder if it WAS Him.

Hebrews 11 is the Faith chapter. When you're exhausted or life has you down, READ IT! It'll give you encouragement & bolster your faith. God keeps His promise - no matter what. He will do what He promised to do, just believe & trust in Him fully. Wait on Him & worship.

A new and better covenant

Hebrews 9:1: Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary.

2: A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand, the table and the consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place.

3: Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place,

4: which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.

5: Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

6: When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry.

7: But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

8: The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing.

9: This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper.

10: They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings—external regulations applying until the time of the new order.

Grace: More than amazing!

We all understand God's grace & how it works & applies to our lives, but sometimes we forget that He gives it to us all the time! You can never go so far that grace can't find you or grace won't give up on you!! Grace is that all-time-there-for-you-gift-of-God.

There are 2 parts to grace: 1) the unmerited favor of God. 2) unlimited power of God in us, for us, & through us. His grace covers us!! When grace steps in: We GET what we DON'T deserve, and we DON'T get what we DO deserve. That amazing grace, sweeter than anything else.

He reminds us that His grace is sufficient enough to carry us through anything that we're going through. We need to thank Him for that. Sometimes we need grace to hold on to what He's promised - and other times we need His grace to help us to let go. It's a 2 way street.

A new order

Hebrews 7:11: If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the law was given to the people), why was there still need for another priest to come—one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?

12: For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.

13: He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.

14: For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

15: And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,

16: one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.

17: For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."

I'll take care of it

The Lord wants you to know He's going to take care of business for you! Stop worrying about it, He's not forgotten about you. What you need to know is that if He said it, He's going to do it. He's not busy with other things, He's preparing situations for you.

How many times have you been reading the Word & it just jumps out at you and grabs you?!?? There are so many that declare He is for us! Ez. 24:14, Psalm 37:5, 1 Thess. 5:24 & Proverbs 3:5&6 are ones that speak on this truth & remind us - He's got our back - believe it!!

God has promised that He will take care of business for you. Just abide in Him & wait upon the Lord to faithfully fulfill it. 2 Samuel 14:8 hit me one day & tells of a king who will take care of situation for a woman. God is that King, He'll take care of you!

An anchor of hope

Hebrews 6:13: When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,

14: saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants."

15: And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.

16: Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.

17: Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.

18: God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.

19: We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

20: where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

Mobilized

Mark 16 & Luke 9 speaks of how God commissions & challenges us to go into ALL the world, preaching the gospel & healing the sick. Today we dedicate another facet of the church - being the church. We're unveiling the Medical Mobile Unit to reach the community & city.

The trailer is just a tool or a vehicle that gives the people inside the ability to be His hands & His heart to a city in need. God put this dream in us 10 years ago, but we haven't had the opportunity to step out until now, when it's all come together.

We now have the chance to be out in the midst of the hurting & broken lives, the babies in need, who need His touch. It's time to go. This building is NOT the church...YOU are the church!! You have to take His presence & His spirit with you & reach a city for Him.

Remember, YOU are the salt & light of the world!! You have to stay in His presence in order to remain effective & be able to minister.

I want to remind you fathers out there, that you have the amazing ability to impact your kids - but you also have a target on your head. The enemy knows how strategic fathers are in the raising of their children, imparting into them & impacting them for a lifetime.

Remember this guys: God has chosen you!! God has destined you for greatness!! God will raise you up no matter what you've done. Guys - stop focusing on perfection & start working on position in Christ!!! It WILL all fall into place when you're in the right place.

Don't let your circumstances speak louder than the call of God that is on your life!! If He said He'll do it, prepare for it & be ready! What is it about us men, that as we grow older - the more distant we become with others. We NEED a brother or others to stand beside us.

Hell is afraid of what you will become, what you will impart & teach to others, & obtaining the destiny that He has for you. This is a moment of impartation - into your heart, mind, & spirit. He wants you to go for it today & not hold back any longer as men.

An appointment with a resurrection

We see in John 5:1-8 the man who was an invalid for 38 years, & waited by the pool in Bethesda for his healing. How long will you wait? Something in you has died, a dream has been lost, hope has been wiped out. It's time for you to have a resurrection of those things.

Without a resurrection encounter, you'll never experience this life changing opportunity & breathe life into those things that are dead. We need to stay ready & wait for the waters to be stirred - so when it happens we are the 1st to get in & obtain our healing.

Jesus asked if he wanted to be healed, but the man answered 'I have no one to help me in.' Jesus came to heal him where he was at. Even if you feel you have no one around you to help you through what you're going through, Christ is ALWAYS with you & will stay by you.

We are in a season right now where God is renewing hearts, dreams, hopes, & futures. It's a time to start dreaming again! Will you get up from beside the pool you've been at for so long, waiting for your healing & restoration, & allow God to heal you?

Breaking free from rejection

In our lives today, so much of the time we are fighting against our mind & things we think up. We need to saturate it with the Word. Too much of the time we talk what we think. We don't think it through before we say it. We must allow a 'transformation' of our mind.

Paul states it so clearly that we must bring into captivity every thought & high thing that exalts itself against God & His Word. What stronghold has you entangled or trapped? Believers have strongholds too - it's not always about demonic possession. We are flesh!

Rejection is one of the most cruelest & dangerous strongholds that can start from something that happens to us as a child. It can start out small, but if not dealt with properly - it can become such a stronghold that take years off of your life.

We were created for relationship!! You can be rejected so much, you cut off everyone else & keep yourself from God, others, & your destiny. We need to combat the spirit of rejection with positive & encouraging words, building up of others, & compassion to strengthen others.

Enough is enough

Today, we are still in a battle with demonic forces. Fear is one of the most hideous & powerful spirits that we must confront daily. Fear is a spirit with a voice. It tries to speak into our minds, and spread lies & divide-disrupt-destroy any relationship in your life.

There is no area in your life that fear will not come in & try to blind you. Don't lose your perspective or forget what God has done. We are a people in fear of so many things...otherwise we wouldn't have all these phobias!! Don't let it overtake you & steal from you.

Guard your tongue & garrison your mind - lock fear out. You must bring your A game!! If you have no open doors, fear won't come in. The power of the Word of God counteracts anything that fear trys to get you to believe. No matter what man says, God has the final word.

Isaiah 43:2 reminds us that no matter what we go through, He is STILL with us. No matter what!! He will strengthen you - apply the Word.

An appointment with the cross

Our tendency is to hurry through the cross & crucifixion to get to the resurrection, but we miss out on the deliverance if we do that. Easter is not a story, it is a passage that shares the Savior took His own life and gave it up for us to allow us to live with Him.

He had to carry the cross, the very thing He was to be crucified on - He bore that burden to take on all of our sins & deliver us. All it takes is 1 look from Jesus and your life will never be the same. He can take all that you are going through & bring you freedom.

In the midst of the crucifixion He cried out "It is finished" signifying the price was paid & our lives were purchased by His blood. We know the cross is the manifestation of the power of Christ & through the cross He rendered sin & death powerless towards our lives.

In Mark 14:32, Jesus feels the agony & the separation that the cross will bring and asks if it can be removed from His future, and then accepts it. Maybe the human part of Jesus realizes He'll be away from the Father, and didn't want that separation. But God gives Him the strength.

How many times in our own lives do we try to fix things before God's timing brings us through it? Then He has to fix it, then bless us. Praying is our God-connection & is our open line of communication to Him. Pray until you get through what you're going thru & believe.

You've got to make up your mind and get to the place of prayer & empty yourself before the Lord. Only then can He pour into you fully. God knows there are some things that are only you & Him...no one else can go thru it with you. Like Jesus & His Father in the garden.

Divine deliveries

I think one of the most moving passages is 'Jesus wept'...it shows his compassion for all of mankind, it lets us see that He felt the same anguish and pain, and it shows us He's been there in the same circumstances, situations, and day-to-day things that we have been in.

I believe with all my heart, that this is the year He wants to break off the old things that have held you back from experiencing the fullness that He has for you, the intimacy that He longs to have with you, and to move you into the direction He has called for you.

Defeating debt

We've become enslaved to debt because it was a very slow & hidden process. If it was a faster, we would have jumped out of the way. So often we don't get more because we don't know how to live with what we have now. We go outside our limitations and we're stuck.

God's Word works. You've got to read it, work it, and live it in order for it to show up in your life & give it space in your life. Some might not have had any kind of teaching about money growing up, but you don't have to pass that on to your kids. Learn this now.

To defeat debt you must come to terms with reality. You cannot defeat what you are not willing to look at or face, it's always there. Getting out of debt is a lifestyle change - it's not a 6 week course to change. You must set your mind to doing & living differently.

It's not worth trying to keep up with the Jones' - if a thief, fire, or storm strikes, the only thing that matters are: relationships.

Got to have a plan, man

Ephesians 1:3 again, speaks on God blessing us in every way - we must understand the principle of being faithful with what He gives us.

You gotta have a plan in order maintain your finances & give God the space to open up a larger blessing in your life. Stick with it. You go to a doctor to find out if there is a problem or what is going on with your body. You must do the same idea with a budget.

A farmer doesn't complain when he doesn't have a harvest because he didn't plant a seed. You have to work in order to get paid, simple. Proverbs 13:11 says those who go for a get rich scheme soon end up broke, but those who stick to a plan will endure & are blessed.

It's harder to sell a DVD or book that teaches to live within or below your means, the ones that sell are the get-rich-quick schemes. It's about a lifestyle - you don't have to keep up with anyone. You must check your behavior & find out why you can't say NO to things.

First things first

Maybe it's using the word 'empowerment' & we think God's going to come down and ZAP us or our situation & everything is okay again. Economic empowerment is not God bailing you out. He will perform miracles - it's not wisdom digging a hole of debt & praying for help.

We are not going to be blessed, we are not going to get blessed...we are ALREADY blessed in Christ. It has already happened. Live in it! Some of you don't understand that you have the blessing, whether it is circumstances, situations, or issues. Don't miss the blessing!!

Economic empowerment is using what God has given you - in the talents, gifts, & finances - & being able to increase its potential.

Economic empowerment

Ephesians 1:1-3 speaks on living the blessed life, even during these tough economic times & allowing the blessing of God to rest on us.

We will still have things to navigate & situations that come in our lives, but we can live prosperously through those and be blessed.

We think the answer to our financial problems is a huge wad of cash, when it's really about being faithful to manage the cash you have.

We can live in a higher level of blessing, but we must be faithful to walk on a deeper level & principle of every area of our life.

We can't live in or by the hype, we must live in reality but we can live in the complete blessing & promise that His word has stated.

I'm coming to get you!

Zephaniah 3:14: Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem!

15: The LORD has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The LORD,
the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm.

16: On that day they will say to Jerusalem, "Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hands hang
        limp.

17: The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he
will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

18: "The sorrows for the appointed feasts I will remove from you; they are a burden and a
        reproach to you.

19: At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you; I will rescue the lame and gather those
who have been scattered. I will give them praise and honor in every land where they were
       put to shame.

20: At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and
praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very

Passages for our New Year's passage

The Word of God ALWAYS keeps my cutting edge sharp - it always helps me regain my perspective. It is how I start a new year off right.

Choose not to let your old nature to dominate & control your life any longer. Let this be the year that Christ move you into a new walk.

Hebrews 10:23 says if we hold fast to Him, He will be faithful to guide - direct & order our steps according to the promise in His word.

Philippians 4:11-13 says we must learn to be content in everything & situation - the secret of being fulfilled is ours. He empowers us.

Romans 8:28-31 says God works all things to work together for good to those who love Him & are called by His name. He is for us!!

The Kingdom of God is here

During this week of prayer & fasting I've felt the Lord quicken to my heart the passage Isaiah 55:10-11, Hebrews 10:23.

Isaiah 55:10: As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

11: so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Hebrews 10:23: Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
